We are down to the final hours of the campaign! Everything wraps up tomorrow at 2 pm Eastern. If you've been waiting to make your pledge to get your own copy of Tao of Igor or thinking about adding a few bucks for some add-ons, now is the time. We've got a range of cool rewards still available from simple ones like a PDF copy of the book all the way up to one of a kind levels that include the original cover art for both editions of Tao. Something for everyone!
THANK YOU to all of you who have backed the Kickstarter already. You've funded the printing of the first new Dork Tower collection in ten years AND unlocked 10 stretch goals. And there is a good chance you might unlock number 11--a new Gilly print for all backers--by the time you see this update. There are 4 stretch goals remaining that can be unlocked--the Gilly print, a paper upgrade for both the paperback and hardcover edition, custom Army of Dorkness Buttons for each reward level and TAO IN COLOR! A nice mix of more loot and upgrades to the book. Help us unlock those final goals and get all the loot by spreading the word about the final 24 hours!

Ummm...Wow!
Or have I said that before?
We’re not even at the halfway point of the Tao of Igor Kickstarter campaign yet, and my goodness, we’re closing in on 200% funding!
Also? We hit four stretch goals! (Buttons? YES! Improved cover stock? YES! Army of Dorkness Certificates? YES! Wallpaper? The Obligatory Wallpaper? YES!)
With the Obligatory Wallpaper goal now in the rearview mirror, the next three to come will add add physically to the final book, making the Tao of Igor a bigger and better collection.

If we hit $27,500, Dork Tower #34 (“A Brief History of gaming”) gets included in the collection.
- At $30,000, we’ll be able to offer an optional, Kickstarter-exclusive hardcover edition of the Tao of Igor, which you may either upgrade to, or order as an add-on
- And at $32,500, Dork Tower #35 (“Gift of the Mad Guys”) will be added, pushing the volume to over 200 pages!
We’ve also added an ARMY OF DORKNESS ARCHIVIST support level, which includes PDFs of every collection, book or comic I've ever published - including the entire Dork Tower comic book run - and there was a ton of extra material in those: games, back-up strips, a Very Dorky Cookbook, and much more. (You can also get the PDFs as an add-on, after the campaign ends.)
And even though the graphics don’t mention it yet, all the PDFs will be included at the $500, $1500 and $2,000 ARMY OF DORKNESS GENERAL levels.
Beyond that? There’s some fun stuff lined up, oh, my yes. But I don’t want to get ahead of myself.

This is an insanely busy period for me, between the Tao of Igor, some massive Munchkin deadlines, and two big con appearances (Lucca Comics and Games in Italy this weekend, Gamehole Con and Dorkstock back home, next). But this was the window of opportunity that presented itself, and it’s sort of fun seeing just how crazy productive I can really be, when I set my mind to it.

So, yes, the Tao of Igor campaign continues to be an absolutely amazing experience. You folks are fantstic, and I can’t believe I’m going to be putting out more Dork Tower books!
Yup - “Books,” plural.
In the next year and beyond, I’d like to release out a collection (or two) of all the web strips that have never seen print. Not to mention a brand-new volume that takes the main comic book storyline further (oh, I have plans, I tell you), and then a 20th anniversary edition of the old collections, many of which have been out of print for years.
But first things first: there are still 17 days to go for the Tao of Igor campaign, and much more fun to be had!
I’m told that the way to end these Kickstarter Updates is with a Call to Action. But what can you do that you haven’t already done? Holy cats.

Wow and thank you everyone! You unlocked the SIXTH! stretch goal today--a Kickstarter exclusive hardcover edition of Tao of Igor. John will be updating the level art soon on the campaign page but for now wanted to let you know about the different ways you can get the hardcover.
$95 - Army of Dorkness Master Sergeant
Kickstarter exclusive hardcover edition of Tao of Igor, a 9x12 print of the cover art from the hardcover, a signed and sketched bookplate PLUS everything included in the Corporal level.
$195 - Army of Dorkness Major
Kickstarter exclusive hardcover edition of Tao of Igor, a 9x12 print of the cover art from the hardcover, a signed and sketched bookplate PLUS everything included in the Captain level.
$1,500 - Army of Dorkness General (Four star)
Original cover art from the hardcover edition of Tao of Igor! Physical copy of Tao of Igor, a personal thank you card from John plus everything from the MASTER SERGEANT level. PLUS all the PDFs available in ARCHIVIST level.

Oh my goodness!
OH, MY GOODNESS!
"The Tao of Igor" funded in less than a day, and you wonderful people have already smashed through the first stretch goal!
This is humbling and amazing, and...and... and this is also SO MUCH FUN!
There will be a new Dork Tower collection out!
Oh, my goodness!
This couldn't have happened without you (which, I believe, is the whole point of Kickstarter, but still, it feels ridiculously magical when it happens)!
Doubly wonderful is seeing all the Dork Tower Patreon backers who are also supporting the Kickstarter! Looks like we're going to have to print up a lot of "Double Agent" Army of Dorkness buttons, along with all those "Drunken Master" buttons.
There are some incredibly fun stretch goals lined up. As each one falls, we'll unveil another, to come. The next goal is to improve the collection's cover stock. Then? The first ever Army of Dorkness certificates!
We'll try not to send more than two or three updates, each week. If you'd like to see me melt down in real time, there's always my Twitter feed! (I'm @muskrat_john there).
In the meantime, I believe today deserves a hearty "HUZZAH!"
